Hello, my name is Adam Nayer. I originally built this site in 2004 in order to experiment with, and learn about, web technologies. Since then, it has become a testbed, ongoing project, as well as tool which I use as required. One of the most usefull uses I found was while traveling, I used the blog I developed in order to keep family and friends informed as to my activities. While I could have used any number of free blogs to do the same thing, I enjoy the the fun and challange of developing my own applications. Now for a bit more about me... I graduated from Queen's University in April of 2005 with a BSCH in Computer Science Specializing in Software Design. I greatly enjoyed my time at Queen's, I believe due in part to my approach to campus life. While a student I tried to be active on campus, I joined numerous intramural sports team and became involved with the formation of the Computing Students Association (COMPSA). In my fourth year I was the Executive Chair of CUTC Queen's. I was in charge of raising $20000 and organizing the Queen's delegation to the Canadian Undergraduate Technoloty Conference. Following graduation I was offered a two month contract by the Faculty of Applied Science at Queen's University to build a specialized web application. This opportunity allowed me to continue to develop the skills I had just learnt in fourth year during my thesis project. The application was such a success that my two month contract ended up lasting 16 months! Over that time I worked on a number of projects, including helping to develop a customized AJAX implementation targeted at a customized portal which was under development. Late August 2005 I took a month off in order to travel to Europe. In just under four weeks in Europe I visited London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Prague. It was quite a trip. It is one thing to hear about far off lands and how they are different, it is quite another to experience them for yourself. I had a great time, I find it really cool to be able to stand exactly where we know for sure people stood one thousand or more years ago. Starting in January 2007 I began working as a consultant for Deloitte in their technology practice . For most of my frist year I worked on learning Interwoven TeamSite and becoming a certified TeamSite 6.7.1 developer. My favorite thing about my current job is that I have the chance to work on many different types of projects and in many different roles. I don't know of any other workplace which is so dynamic and offers so many different opportunities. ResumeIf you would like a copy of my resume please send me an e-mail. |
